Thanks for all the input on my last post, guys! So I went through the comments and I've generated the following list of upcoming shows that have been recommended so far (in no particular order):

5. Teio Jul-15
6. Dandy Daddy Jul-9
7. Maid Deka Jun-26

9. Call Center no Koibito Jul-3
I'll give each one a try and go from there. For the ongoing or finished shows mentioned, like BOSS, I tried but couldn't really get into them. Sorry =[.

Wow, you're really listening to recommendations? Then I have one that I'm really looking forward to watching but I'm almost sure no one is gonna take or at least not for now. Maybe in some years... Mama wa Mukashi Papa Datta. The story sounds interesting although only watching the real thing could tell you if it is not boring
ReplyDeleteBut I'll watch anything you decide to do because you're one of my favorite fansubber! MMPD is just a remind because people tend to not notice wowow dramas :( and Toda Keiko is soooo amazing!
maybe you can cross out Call Center no Koibito, because a group is already subbing that ^^ I'd rather you work on other dramas as theres a lot that dont have subbers yet :(

ReplyDeleteI just took a look at the upcoming summer dramas, and honestly it does not look as promising to say the least, with a few exceptions. The ones on the list that I am slightly interested in are 1) Ninkyo Helper, 2) Dandy Daddy, 3) Akanhana no sensei (won't know till i actually watch this one). Hopefully there are a few gems in the mix.

ReplyDeleteMy observations on some of the dramas on the list:
ReplyDeleteLimit / Keiji no Genba 2 seems to have only 5 episodes.
Teioh is another Yaoh clone, the male equivalent of Jotei, and all 3 are also written by the same mangaka who seems only capable of coming up w/ the same kind of storylines (just alternate between male and female for the main character).
Maid Deka is also adapted from a manga; the 1st episode is cheesy as hell (unless you're a huge fan of Fukuda Saki).
Koishite Akuma (Vampire Boy???) is another JE vehicle for one of their Kansai Johnny's Jr. member.
Finally, the synopsis of Dandy Daddy sounds just like Hanayome to Papa.
IOW, slim pickens if you ask me :-)

I don't know how i missed this drama, but Devil's Game looks to be a great upcoming drama. a.k.a MW Dai-0-sho, it features Tamaki Hiroshi and Sato Takeru. I'm finally excited for a drama! ^^
